Moving into the 21st Century

So, I finally finished watching Buffy and Firefly/Serenity (unspoiled!), and I started David Tennant. Torchwood up next. Last season of Highlander on tap, followed by the new Highlander movie. (OK, 2006 is new for me.) Eventually, Battlestar Galactica. Soon I'll be able to converse with people I know, read blogs, browse the internet, and turn on the TV without hazarding hours of future enjoyment.

you mean all this time, all i had to dois watch a bunch of shows to converse with people I know, read blogs, browse the internet, and turn on the TV? And here I thought I was just being a curmudgeon.

I think of it as being a reverse curmudgeon, by offending people's fannish sensibilities so that they view me with disdain and frustration. Also, it passive-aggressively restricts what people can talk about around me, which would be great if I could harness that for any subject at will.

muahahahaha

Hmmm. I never thought of my lack of TV ownership, much less watching it or movies or the like, as being passive-aggressive control of conversations. That'll require some thought.

Anything can be, in the right hands. Just remember, if you're really being manipulated properly, you won't know.
